Korin kiln
Kourinkama , based in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, is the birthplace of Hasami ware and boasts a 400-year history, and is a pottery studio that specializes in hand-painted blue and white porcelain.
The technique of meticulously drawing patterns, one stroke at a time, using indigo blue gosu that blends into the surface of the white porcelain, is a fusion of traditions passed down from generation to generation and modern sensibilities.
Kourin Kiln's creations are based on the principle of "neither too prominent nor too subtle, but just the right balance," and are characterized by designs that enhance the food while still retaining the presence of the vessel itself .
It has a texture that feels comfortable in the user's hand, a dignified appearance, and is versatile enough to be used for both Japanese and Western cuisine.
